Imagine gods who laugh, cry, love, and rage just as we do. In many ancient cultures, from the Greeks to the Egyptians, deities were envisioned in human form, each embodying different aspects of nature and human life. These gods and goddesses, with their human-like qualities, help us understand the world around us and our place within it, teaching us about courage, love, justice, and the importance of harmony with nature. In this view, the Biblical phrase ‘created in God’s image’ is interpreted to mean that our physical bodies resemble those of the Creator.

This concept encourages us to look within ourselves to find guidance, strength, and connection to the divine. In this conception the divine can be found in our conscience and is reflected in the everyday acts of kindness, compassion, and justice that derive from our deepest Being. According to this worldview, we resemble God not in our physical beings but in our ‘true selves.’

A World of Spirits: Supernatural Beings

Expand your imagination to include a vast array of spiritual entities, those that populate the beliefs of many cultures around the world. These include spirits, angels, ancestors, and other beings that exist in a realm beyond our ordinary reality. They play various roles, from protectors to teachers, challenging us and guiding us on our life's journey. This rich tapestry of spiritual beings shows the diversity of ways humans seek to understand forces beyond their comprehension.

The All-Encompassing: Pantheism

Pantheism offers a perspective where God is seen in everything and everything is seen as a part of God.
